Children's Data & Parental Consent
Most GNR Robotics students are under 18. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats anyone under 18 as a child, and requires a parent's or lawful guardian's verifiable consent before a child's personal data is processed. This notice explains how we do that. It is part of our Privacy Policy.
Who gives consent
- Demo and contact form: must be filled in by a parent or guardian (or an adult aged 18+), who ticks a consent box. We ask for the parent's details, not the child's.
- Student portal account: for a student under 18, a parent or guardian must create the account, or be present and consent when it is created. The sign-up form records who created it and that consent was given.
- Enrolment: we confirm with the parent or guardian, at enrolment, that they consent.
What we collect about children
Only what we need to teach: the student's name, grade band, enrolled courses and, if a portal account is created, an email address and password. We don't ask children for their address, phone number, photos, school records or any sensitive data through this website.
What we never do
- We don't track or behaviourally monitor children, or show them targeted advertising.
- We don't sell or rent children's data.
- We don't process children's data in ways likely to harm their well-being.
Photos and videos
Class and event photos that show a child's face are only published on our website, brochures or social media (including Instagram (opens in a new tab)) with the parent's or guardian's written consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. If you'd like a photo of your child removed, use our data request page and we will take it down.
Parents' rights
As a parent or guardian you can see, correct or delete your child's data and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent may mean we can't provide portal access, but it won't affect anything already done. Use our Data Deletion & Requests page.
